POWERED BY JAGUAR
One of the newest vehicles to join the PBJ is this most unusual Canary yellow Vauxhall firenza, with a 4L AJ16 Jaguar engine neatly shoehorned in.
The car features many of the original Vauxhall motorsport fibre panels (very rare). Andy has worked through the night on several occasions to prepare the car for this season. Much modification was required to the bulkhead and chassis to fit the Jaguar engine and running gear.
Much of the Jaguar rear subframe components have been used, but minus the subframe itself. The car is running competetively in the series finishing 3rd.
Unfortunately the engine was missfiring slightly during practice and probably the race due to over fuelling. Clearly there is still more performance to be unleashed from this unusual cat.

PBJ QUALIFYING
Qualifying was very difficult due to the wet conditions. Lawrence Coppock was the fastest PBJ in his very smart white XJS. Gail Hill was a fraction slower in her XJS, and Andy Gardner qualified 3rd despite the misfire.
As usual the Caterhams were considerably quicker than any of the Jaguar powered cars, but Russell Munns Matlock MK28/30 clinched pole.
Paul Merrett XJS, Rick Walker XJ12
John Wilkes D Type replica, Patrick Doyle XJ6
.
Pic1 Richard Masters (rare appearance) Pic2 Derek Pearce
Not surprisingly some drivers struggled to keep their cars pointing the right way
Much spray to contend with as they all struggle for traction down the start straight.
Paul Merrett passed the chequered flag 2.5 seconds ahead of Lawrence Coppock with Andy Gardner some way back in third.
Hopefully PBJ will continue to improve in numbers and not have to share the track with other series!
ANY INTERESTING PICTURES OR STORIES RELATING TO THIS MEETING WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. PREFERABLY MATERIAL NOT FEATURED ON OTHER SITES, AND WITH THE OWNERS CONSENT.
